For years Cygnus struggled fitting bought-in deck hatches from various suppliers to their boats,large flush hatches were unattainable and the man-size hatches were mostly cast aluminium.The hatches tended to rely on poor gaskets, had locking handles which leaked and the alloy coroded in the salt water.
To solve the problem Cygnus has produced a set of GRP moulds to manufacture a range of flush GRP deck hatches.
The flush deck hatches are supplied with a perimeter drain gutter to take away the water plus a substantial neoprene gasket. The lid/cover can be hinged or drop-in and is retained by heavy screw down storm clamps. The finish can be nonslip and any colour to match the boats deck, standard is light grey or white.
Cygnus have used these hatches fo several years and found them to be the optimum solution to providing a flush and almost fully watertight robust deck hatch.
Now available to other boatbuilders and boat owners wishing to upgrade.
