Pictured here is the lastest and probably the greatest quality launching fom the Cygnus yard. A twin screw Cyfish 39 Pilot finished to highest yacht standards by the dedicated Cygnus team.
Powered by a pair of Yanmar 6LYA diesels rated at 370hp each, these engines whisk the 12 ton boat up to 27.5 knots with no trouble at all. Driving conventional down angle gearboxes and B.T. four bladed propellers the ride is so smooth and effortless.
This magnificent white hull with blue wash strake was ordered by Ross MacLennon of Scarinish on the Isle of Tiree.
The hull was moulded under survey of the SFIA and had extra laminates applied amidships in way of the flooded-hold (vivier) tank, and Seaway will complete the outfitting using an aluminium foredeck and wheelhouse.
Leigh had a Cyclone 30 built at Cygnus in 2002 called 'Faith Hope', she was powered by a 6BTA Cummins and laid out the same as his new boat.Leigh has been so sucessful with his Cyclone 30 that he just wanted the same recipe but larger. The Typoon encompasses all the atributes of the Cyclone in regard to impeccable seakeeping, handling and that huge 4.0m wide flush deck.
Here is the latest Cyclone 30 forward control version. This partly completed vessel is on her way to the yard of Chapman and Hewitt at Wadebridge, Cornwall for final fitting out, to be supervised by Phil Mitchell.
